Strawberry Conch X2
Strawberry Conch - Strombus luhuanus
This conch is a fascinating invertebrates that lives in and along the sand bed. They will spend time buried in the substrate when resting. They have good eye sight and will usually keep one on the look out while in the sand bed. One eye usually extends from a small lip on the front of the shell.
They feed in an unusual manner with their trunk like mouth that extends and can get into the smallest gaps. They need a good amount of algae and detritus to graze on. They will help clean the sand bed and keep it well oxygenated by their burrowing activity. They are also ideal for the smaller reef tanks only growing to around 2 inches.
